Autumn mix

Leaves and flowers both vie for attention with their shades of red.
Maybe the cheerful colour will take our mind off the frightening reality of today for a while.

My find for this week is my acceptance of the colour red.
I've never truly cared for reds, even though I had a pretty little red sports car once, in the so-called 'Leyland' red, named after the last british car manufacturers, now gone.

But seeing that half our garden is bathed in red, with vines doing a turn that must be seen to be believed, I tried to capture its essence.
However. none of my cameras are at ease with capturing the colour red the way my eyes see it.

  3. I joke about getting a red car next time. I have white now and it is such a pain to keep clean.

  7. NICE! Red is particular beautiful in the autumn landscape because there are so many shades of red mingling with many shades of yellow, orange and green.

  8. Red is a difficult colour to deal with and not only in photography... We "see red" when we are angry, red inflames the passions, it incites to violent acts and urges to action. But as you have found out, red can also stop us and make us contemplate - especially when mixed in with other autumnal tones...
Many thanks for linking through to Floral Friday Fotos!
