gardenia jasminoides

seductive scent
waxen crunch of petals
gardenia

scent of summer
lusciously rich and creamy
waxlike petals

gardenia jasminoides
is my favourite houseplant. We can't grow it outdoors in the U.K. although the pot can be placed outside for the summer months. It is not easy to look after and needs rainwater instead of tapwater in hard water areas.
I can keep the plants from one season to the next, but never get it to flower again the following year. The buds dry up and then drop off.
