Simply dubbin, rust and snow

A lily on a Rosenthal saucer.
I love how the light plays on white china.
Overlaid with a photo from the snow last winter
to crystallize it.
Topped off with a thin layer of simpliciy:

from last february's kk collection, which I also used on the abstracted image below of a dollop of dubbin on a rusty flower tub.
Dubbin is a greasy substance used on hiking boots to make them impervious to the wet. I use it on flower containers to keep the slugs and snails from climbing up and devouring my plants.

Weird how ordinary things can combine into a semblance of art.

  2. I always seem to notice something extra in your photos...like the shape of the moon on your plate! I like your choice of placing one simple flower with a bud on the white plate. And, I really like the texture of your 'dollop of dubbin'. It's an interesting mix of color and texture! Have you tried using that photo as a texture on top of another photo?

  3. Oh Phyllis, you are good for my morale

I'm so glad you popped up again. When so few speak to me and I'm beginning to think of giving up, there you are: writing something absolutely wonderful in a comment.
    Thank you.
Hope all is well with you. Still loving the programme..

  4. You have an extraordinary ability to take the simple, a flower and a plate, and create beautiful art. Love your creation of petals on the white of snow today.

  5. Lovely image and how clever to overlay it with the snow image. It looks pearlescent as a result. Really pretty. All the best, Bonny
