store-bought

I'm reduced to getting supermarket flowers now....
I feel disloyal to my patch, but there really is nothing to pick at present. It'll be a while until the bulbs show and the Winter jasmine does sport a few flowers, but not for a vase.

Still, even though mums are far from my favourites, it doesn't look too bad. And after throwing out the cinnamon sticks and plastic gold leaves and the horrid stiff palm leaves they see fit to include in a mixed bunch, I found it quite pleasing to play with the stems.

The lilies were a surprise and the gerberas lasted a whole week. So all in all.....

It'l be store-bought roses next.

  1. Hi these,
Yes, mums are a bit ho hum, but at this time of year who can be fussy. Cinnamon sticks don't sound too bad, but plastic gold leaves are the pits. Stiff palm leaves are fine for Palm Sunday, just keep them in water. Lovely as always. Tom The Backroads Traveller

  4. Who thought of that combination!?!? You have managed to turn a strange bouquet into an elegant flower display and gorgeous photo. Nice job (as usual!).

  5. I think that your flowers are very pretty. I love having some flowers to brighten my day when it's dark and grey outdoors.

  6. Thank heavens for store-bought flowers in the dark and dismal days of a cold, Northern Winter. I remember a Winter I spent in Holland and my surprise at the vast range of excellent (and cheap) flowers that were available. Lovely shot!
Many thanks for your kind participation in this week's Floral Friday Fotos, look forward to your next offering!
